felix dickinson
A staple of the UK's underground dance scene for the last 3 decades, Felix Dickinson learned his trade DJing at free parties and illegal raves back in the fabled heydays of the 1990s, introduced to the scene via the Tonka Sound System.
It was the mid 90s when Felix co-founded his first record label, Ugly Music and relaunched it in 2021 on the 25th anniversary. Uglys most recent release, “Peoples People”, coincides with a digital release of the back catalogue for the very first time. In addition to Ugly Music Felix has put out music on a number of world-renowned record labels, including seminal imprints DFA, Rush Hour, Eskimo, Golf Channel, Claremont 56, Futureboogie Recordings and his other more recent label, Cynic. Complimenting his own productions Felix is also a renowned remixer, sought out by Artists as varied as Khruangbin and Tranquil Elephantizer.
After 30 years on the road at clubs and festivals across the globe his popularity continues to grow with high profile residencies for Houghton Festival, Croatia’s Love International and notably his revered annual closing set at Glastonburys Genosys, Block 9.
Felix has a regular show on 1BTN FM radio supporting his recent relocation to England's South East.
Playing and producing music characterised by a deep appreciation for the past, a love of the present, and a vision for the future of electronic dance music Felix is clear in his approach to the floor “A DJ has two jobs: to make people dance and introduce them to new music” he never fails in his bid to do both.
